My husband and I took a snowmobiling trip and stayed at the Great Pines. Before we arrived I had some questions so I called. The manager, Fiorella was warm, welcoming, and extremely helpful. Upon arrival Fiorella showed us around. She went above and beyond to insure our stay was great! nOur jacuzzi suite was cozy and clean. All the amenities in the room were awesome! ( over sized towels, Keurig coffee maker, Starbucks k-cups, Alexus,) For a small jacuzzi the jets were powerful. It was perfect for2! We were able to park our snowmobiles directly in front of our room.nAfter settling in we went to the Lean-To restaurant and bar. Our server, Nicole was very attentive. As were all the servers! Jamie the bartender made the best Winter sangria.nJamie is a hard working and efficient bartender! It is obvious Fiorella has created a team that works well together. Overall the food and drinks were great.nThe continental breakfast that was left all day included a variety of cereals, oatmeal, breakfast bars, yogurts, fruits coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and juice.nI would definitely recommend The Great Pines with its lake and mountain views!

Cozy Getaway Place

This was a quick getaway for Valentines’ Day, and a chance to snowmobile and snowshoe. Service was wonderful, staff so kind and outgoing. We have visited several times before and always come away happy. Staff treats people like family. Restaurant wasn’t open but we made do and had fun exploring! This place is definitely worth going back to again and again.

Rest & Relaxation!

Great Pines is the perfect place! We went for a weekend getaway and we were lucky enough to find availability here. I had a personal loss of a friend the night before we arrived there but still made the most of it and glad we did. The grounds and set up of the resort are fantastic! We stayed in the lodge and arriving late tired and hungry luckily the lean to restaurant was still open and easy to grab a bite. Our room was nice there was a small issue with the heating and they simply moved us and upgraded us to a lakefront room within 2 min. Couldn’t have been happier with that little arrangement. Got our good night sleep and we specifically went there for rest and relaxation and that is what we got. Woke up everyday and had a bite to eat with their light breakfast and toured the mountains during the day. Evening fires at 5pm in the lodge great room and meeting others and having our wine. Quiet mornings and could not beat the view. Was so fun watching the snowmobiles ride across the lake constantly! Fiorella is the general manager and what a Doll! Her and her staff were AMAZING!!! So kind and considerate and constantly asking what and if we needed anything. We even sat at the fire to watch the Super Bowl instead of the Lean to simply because of the comfortable couches, Nicole in the restaurant even brought our appetizers we ordered right over from the restaurant/bar to us! We were well taken care of and when the staff is that sweet and kind it makes ALL the difference. We will be back and it was heaven!

Great Stay at Great Pines

Great Place to stay on Forth Lake.nWe stayed during the week during the winter. We wished the lean too was open more during the week. It was closed Monday tues wed. Other than that it is a great place close to snowmobile trails.

Our daughter and son in law where recently married at the lodge. The staff was excellent. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. The setting is stunning. The lodge is truly an Adirondack retreat. I would recommend this special place to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the Adirondacks and its beauty. Donna St. John

Great location for Snowcation

The rooms were comfy and clean and Hulu kept the kids entertained in the evening. Breakfast included a delightful assortment of pastries, oatmeal, and cereal. The staff was very friendly and took great pride in their property. They were also very helpful with finding good hiking spots. The views of the mountains and the lake from this property were amazing. I highly recommend Great Pines!

2 night stay in off season

2 night stay in off season. Overall this is a very nice place. I do think someone should be there at standard check in time. Not just a text or email directing you to go to your room. nThey also had a resort map in the lobby that would have been helpful to be online. It might have helped my room selection to know exactly on property where the room types were. nSaturday we didn’t see a breakfast attendant. It was much nicer to have a person at breakfast Sunday and it was pleasant to talk to someone local who could talk about trails, shops etc. nwe had a lake view double. When we go again we’d probably take a room that had a covered porch and chairs. Even if it wasn’t lakeview because the property is quite compact and you can easily walk to the main lodge to sit on the first floor covered porch to look at the lake. nnLook forward to coming back during dec-March or the summer when the restaurant is open.

Affordable spot in the middle of Adirondack mts. , some rooms have e decks with chairs and lake views, ours was comfortable beds were clean, good TV good coffee in the room, lake view out of small window. No contact check in was good, it's dog friendly so that was awesome because we had Stella the pitweiler. Fire pit out the door from room would have been cool if you wanted a campfire. All in all very good spot , BBQ joint had good food, we'll be back , thanks!

The perfect location to honor my late father with my brother and his wife, Dad's brother and wife and Dad's sister and husband. Old Forge was where my dad had the best times as a kid and that was where he wanted to be remembered. Knowing how special this place was to Dad, and how beautiful it is up there, I can see myself returning for a future trip.

Amazing location and wonderful staff. We were so sad to leave. Having the kayaks available to take out for a sunrise paddle was awesome. We shared fires with other families as our kids played together and loved going to both Inlet and Old Forge (short drives) for shopping and dining. The food at the lean-to was very good and despite being short staffed (as EVERY restaurant is right now) the bartender and servers were eternally friendly and patient both times we went.

Great Pines

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean. Beds were very comfortable. We booked the courtside double with a Lakeview. It was nice waking up in the morning with this view. However, if you are looking for privacy this is not the room for you (13). We didnt mind since this was just a couple nights stay. The staff in the lean to restaurant was awesome. You cant beat the view here. Check in was very easy. The room had a Keurig and a small ref/freezer. We had a deck to sit on and also a deck to access to enjoy the Lakeview. The only negative is people didnt know how to park. There is no assigned parking. You wont be able to park in front of your room. Not a big deal; just worth mentioning. Wasnt a deal breaker for us and people not knowing how to park is not a facilities issue. Had some issues with shower water temperature at night; but fine in the morning. This is not a 5 star luxury hotel. We found it adequate for our needs.

Easy 4.5 out of 5. Exceptional experience, with easy access to a large deck, sandy water area. Provide free use of their kayaks, paddle boards and canoe. Food at the Lean To was also very tasty and on par with Daikers.A great large family spot where everyone can have their own space, but large grounds to play bags (aka. cornhole), Can Jam, or relax at any one of the fire pits.Only downside was the AC. While operational, it struggled to keep the room cool.

It was our first time back at Great Pines since summer of 2019 and it was so nice to be back! The views of Fourth Lake from the property were just as we remembered, absolutely stunning! There are familiar and new faces on property, everyone was incredibly friendly and hospitable. The Lean To offers a terrific bar inspired menu. The craft cocktails, especially the Bindi’s Blueberry Margarita was delicious! Our lodge lake view room was clean and the bed so incredibly comfortable, we had a perfect nights sleep!

Beautiful location & property

This is our 2nd time staying at Great Pines. It is in a beautiful spot on the lake, with great views. It rained the night we stayed, so we werent able to take full advantage of the outdoor spots, but our room was very nice, clean & comfortable. We loved the balcony overlooking the lake. Breakfast wasnt much - some boxed cereals & granola bars, apples & oranges, so we ate elsewhere for breakfast. Easy drive to town and hiking trails. It is a very pretty place, and we would return in the future.

June 17, 2022

I would like to see at least muffins, or some bread product added and maybe bananas or other fruit. Last night we stayed at a hotel that provided waffles and breakfast sandwiches. In our case, my friend could not take her medicine because you offered no read product with this strong medication. You are located out of town and not near a place to get any. Just want you to see it from the older generation. Place is just beautiful and we would love to return again. Everyone was kind. We did try to call you several times but your mailbox was full unfortunately.

There are so many great things about this place!! If you are just relaxing on the deck or having a coffee in the lodge the view will not disappoint you! Can’t wait to go back

Love this place.Check in was hustle free. owners communicated via text every step of the way, from check in to check out. Rooms are so cute, beds, the most comfortable in had slept in at any hotel. we had a view of the lake, which was awesome.

May 15, 2022

Cleaning service doesn't do a solid checklist. The view is amazing and the rooms have solid themes to them. Wires are unkept and there is unfinished wood placed in the bathrooms. Outlet tangs are unusable. The beds are awesome. So cool, Paul Bunyan vibe to them. AC unit is very loud. You can open the windows if need be. Front desk is very knowledgeable of the town.
